Archaeology<\/strong><\/p>\n

It is known that the first settlement in Miletus was the Mycenaean colony starting from the middle of 2000 BC. Later, Miletus was re-established by the Ionians under the leadership of Nekus, the son of King Codrus of Athens. It is one of the most important port cities of Ionia. It has four harbors. It reached the zenith of its glory during the 7th and 6th centuries BC. The remnants of Miletus showcase a rich tapestry of history, featuring the Theater, Faustina Hammam, Agora, Ceremonial Street, Monumental Fountain, Gymnasium, Virgilius Capito, Hammam, Turkish Hammam, Athena Temple Stadium, Delphinion, Harbor Monument, Zeus Olympios Temenos, and Bouleuterion (Senate Building), along with the Temenos of Egyptian Gods. Thales of Miletus, Anaximander and Anaximandros are recognized as the first natural philosophers of the ancient world. Thales was the first to study natural phenomena purely out of curiosity and to fulfill his daily practical needs. His disciples, Anaximander and Anaximandros, tried to explain events by observing nature rather than accepting them as the action of pagan gods. Modern science recognizes Miletus as the birthplace of modern science and philosophy.<\/p>\n
