Archeology<\/strong><\/p>\n

The ancient name of Ild\u0131r\u0131 Village, located 20 km north-east of \u00c7e\u015fme, is Erythrai. The discoveries within the city indicate that this region has been inhabited since the Early Bronze Age. Erythrai joined the Panionion religious and political union established by the Ionian cities. They experienced a short period of tyranny with Payhagoras. Erythrai earned acclaim through its trade activities in ancient times. During the excavations, the ancient theater on the northern slopes of the Acropolis, which is thought to have been built after the 3rd century BC, was unearthed. Remains of the Temple of Athena were also found during the excavations on the highest plain of the Acropolis and it was understood that the city was surrounded by a 5 km long city wall.<\/p>\n
