Archeology
Situated on Daskalopetra beach in the Vrontados area, the Daskalopetra rock is one of the the most renowned archaeological sites on the island, perpetually drawing tourists. Legend has it that this site is where Homer imparted his teachings. Additionally, the Daskalopetra rock is thought to have served as the altar of a pagan god.
History- Culture
The Monastery of Nea Moni, the village of Pyrgi, the village of Mesta, the area of Kambos and the Archaeological Museum are the main attractions of Chios. Today, noteworthy long-established events such as traditional fairs, Volissos Village Chain Tradition, Vrontados Rocket Wars, Mostra Thimianon Carnival and Agas are organized. In Chios, a destination rich in museums, notable attractions include the Mandarin Museum, Mastic Museum, and the Byzantine (Mecidiye Mosque) Museum.

Gastronomy
Chios is the only place in the world where mastic is produced. Produced from the island’s local grape varieties Krassero and Ayannitis, “Ariousios Wine” is also highly popular. Drinks such as Ouzos, aromatic liqueurs and spirits such as strong souma are produced. The production of pure olive oil, unique citrus fruits, seafood, and a variety of local dishes also leaves a lasting impression.
